#Open odt file windows 7 download
I hope this is the right link for the dropbox items:Įverything in the download worked fine. If it doesn't come through, can you contact me by email? So, I'm trying to send by Dropbox in my Yahoo Mail. Luan wrote:I tried uploading the files again here and it seems the file is too big, maximum allowed size is 128 KiB. Is it possible to upload an example of one of the files that is giving you the problem? An example would give us the chance to see if the problem is in the file or specific to your system. Are you having any problem working with your own files? If it is a more general problem then you may need to try resetting the user profile but I'd not do this immediately I don't know what could have had an effect on your ability to edit. If your friend used a font you do not have installed then AOO typically will substitute whatever seems the nearest font that you have installed. The real difference, as you have noticed, is that you may not have the exact same fonts on the two machines. The quick reply is that with AOO's odt format you should not have any problems editing a file on any operating system. Any help would be appreciated as I need to edit these. I don't know the differences from a Mac to a Windows operating system, so I don't understand if there's a way around this or not. They DO NOT look the same on my cpu as in his document, even though I tell OO it to use such and such font. He says they are built into his OOffice program.
I also have a problem with the fonts he uses.

He does send me a pdf of the file, which looks very different from the odt file which he sends. Have no idea how that happens, but it does not allow me to edit correctly. Sometimes I try to highlight a word to make a correction and the highlight is on a different word in the sentence. When I bring in the odt file it has changed the formatting and makes it difficult to edit his papers as he's asked me to do. I don't know the version, but he said it's the latest. My problem: I have a friend who sends me an odt file created on a Mac. I'm new on this forum, so please excuse my stupidity if I mess up posting.
